About Us

My Story
Driving is a very important skill to have in Western Australia. It can be very hard to get around such a spread out city without a licence, and it can even be hard to find work if you don't have a licence.

I'm Cameron Haughey, and I created this website for one reason - to make professional driving instruction more accessible for people who don't have the funds, or the time, for weeks or even months of one on one driving lessons.

I've been a driving instructor for 6 years and in that time I've refined my approach over thousands of lessons, helping hundreds of people get their licence in Western Australia. My secret to success is attention to detail, building habits and understanding the expectations of the assessors. It's hard to understand what those expectations are without access to one on one driving lessons.
One of the hardest things for me is when a student gets maybe one, maybe 2 or 3, lessons as a gift from a loved one and they can't afford to continue their lessons beyond that, even if they're a long way off the level required to pass the driving assessment.

For a long time I was stuck with trying to find a solution on how to make my professional knowledge and advice cheaper and easier to access. My solution was to create a website with all of my lesson plans available for students to access and use in their own time. You and your supervisor can look at every detail that the assessor's will expect to see from you when you go for your Practical Driving Assessment.

The other thing I've heard so much from my students is absolute horror stories about other driving instructors - students being yelled at, not being allowed to control the pedals, instructors running errands during lessons. What I can gather from that is that finding a good driving instructor can be very hard, and it might just be so traumatic that students give up before they find one. This removes that risk. Find out your weaknesses by reading through the material and work on it together with your mum, dad, partner or whoever your supervisor may be. Driving isn't hard, it just takes practise to be at the consistent level required to pass your PDA. And if you can do that in your own time, rather than on your own dime, I think that's a win.

I'm not the most experienced driving instructor in WA. I'm probably not even the most knowledgeable driving instructor in WA. But I know for sure that everything you need to know to keep yourself safe on the roads, and in turn pass your PDA, is within this website. And I will continue to improve the content and to make things simple to follow and understand.
